The second facelift of the third generation was launched in mid 2016, with dimensions mostly unchanged but various new additional equipment to keep up with competitors. A new safety system, Toyota Safety Sense C, was offered for the first time in the facelifted Estima, but only for Japanese models. It was model year 5 of 6 in the Toyota Previa (third generation, XR50), 2006 to 2019, coming after the 2015 model year and before the 2017 model year.
