The S110 came in 1979 with the engine enlarged from 2.6 to 2.8 liters in the 5M-EU, and it was the first Crown sold in Germany, from 1980, where sales fell by 1982 as a rising yen pushed up prices. The first turbocharged Crown, for Japan only, was launched in October 1980, and a 2.4 liter turbo diesel followed in August 1982. Early cars had twin rectangular headlights, while facelifted cars had bigger monoblock units.
