The S210 appeared on 25 December 2012 with new styling, in which the front of the Royal series paid homage to the fifth generation MS105. The Crown Hybrid went on sale in January 2013, a gentle facelift followed in October 2015, and China took the car from March 2015. In Japan it was replaced by the S220 in June 2018, and in China the Avalon succeeded it when production there ended in May 2020, after the car had been on sale for more than seven years.
