The first Plymouth Voyager minivan, on the Chrysler S platform, was reintroduced for 1984 as a divisional counterpart of the Dodge Caravan, after Plymouth had sold a full-size Voyager van from 1974 to 1983. It was offered in an unnamed base, mid-grade SE and deluxe LE trim, with the LE available with simulated woodgrain paneling. The extended wheelbase Grand Voyager was added for 1987, and the flagship two tone LX trim for 1989. The Voyager was on the Car and Driver Ten Best list for 1985. Its model years run from 1984 to 1990.
