For 1989 the flagship two tone Voyager LX trim was added, sharing many of its features with the Dodge Caravan ES, available only in the standard wheelbase, and the Voyager received a minor update to the exterior with single piece bumper covers painted to match the body. The Chrysler V6 engine was introduced in the line that year, and the front of the vans was changed to improve fit and finish. It was built at Windsor and at the Saint Louis plant in Fenton, Missouri.
