The Prowler was offered over a single generation, based on the 1993 concept car of the same name. It put a Chrysler 3.5 liter V6 up front and an automatic transaxle at the rear, with aluminum bodywork that was bonded and built by hand, and styling drawn from 1930s hot rods. It was the first rear drive Plymouth since the 1989 Gran Fury and the last Plymouth with that layout. Total production was 11,702 cars badged Plymouth and Chrysler. Its model years run from 1997 to 2002.
