The F-85 and Cutlass underwent a major body restyle in 1968, as did all other General Motors A body cars. Two door models adopted a semi fastback roofline, a revival of a streamlining used on all General Motors products from 1942 until 1950 as seen on the Oldsmobile Rocket 88 Club Coupe. In 1972 the 4-4-2 reverted to a trim line and the F-85 nameplate ended. Its model years run from 1968 to 1972. The Hurst/Olds appeared in 1968 and 1969, and a 1972 Hurst/Olds paced the Indianapolis 500.
