Mitsubishi Fuso Canter

The Mitsubishi Fuso Canter is a line of light-duty commercial trucks built by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, a subsidiary of Daimler Truck under the Mercedes-Benz Group, produced continuously since 1963 and now in its eighth generation. Built for urban delivery and light commercial hauling, the Canter takes its name from an equestrian term for a horse's smooth, moderate gait, chosen to evoke the reliable, workmanlike quality Mitsubishi wanted associated with its truck line. In the Japanese domestic market the Canter competes directly with similarly sized rivals including the Isuzu Elf, Toyota Dyna and Nissan Atlas, and Fuso has exported and license-built the Canter widely across Asia, Europe and other markets over its more than six decades in production.
