Mitsubishi Fuso Canter (seventh generation)

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The seventh-generation Mitsubishi Fuso Canter, the FE70 and FE80 series, was introduced in Japan in June 2002 and in Europe in 2005. The main goals were a modern vehicle with improved safety, including disc brakes and xenon headlights on some models, and greater comfort: the wide cabin became 20 mm higher and 100 mm longer to the front, and the gear lever moved to the dashboard, a world first for cab-over trucks. In Europe the engines of the predecessor continued at first, followed by Mitsubishi engines with common rail injection and finally by engines based on the Fiat Powertrain Technologies F1C. The name changed from Mitsubishi Canter to Mitsubishi Fuso Canter on this generation. From April 2006 to March 2009 it was marketed in North America as the Sterling 360, and a simplified seventh generation stayed in production for developing countries as the General Export Models.
