The Colt 1000 was the first four door sedan of Mitsubishi, put on sale in July 1963 as the upper model of the Colt 600, with a 977 cc water cooled four cylinder engine of 51 PS in a flat deck body. Its line grew into the Colt 1100, 1200 and 1500 and the Sports Sedan and Super Sport, and it won its class at the 1964 Japan Grand Prix. It was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries until 1970 and its direct successor was the first generation Lancer of 1973. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1963 to 1970).
