In May 1968 the Colt was changed by a minor change into the New Colt: the body was unified to that of the 1500 and the headlamps became square, and tilt steering was adopted. The 1100 changed its engine to the KE46 1.2 liter and its name to Colt 1200. In August 1968 the Colt 1500 Super Sport was added, with the compression ratio raised from 8.5 to 10.0, SU twin carburetors and 85 PS. The Colt 1000 was the first four door sedan of Mitsubishi, in the flat deck style that was in fashion at that time.
