Mercury Montego (second generation)

Automobiles

For 1972 the second generation Montego was introduced alongside the redesigned Ford Torino. The Cyclone reverted to an option package, with only 30 produced, and the Montego GT, a counterpart of the Gran Torino SportsRoof, replaced it from 1972 to 1973. From 1974 the Montego was available with a 460 V8. For 1977 Mercury discontinued the Montego nameplate and expanded the Cougar line. Its model years run from 1972 to 1976.
