The Montego nameplate, named for Montego Bay in Jamaica, was applied to Mercury's intermediate car of 1968 to 1976, which was the counterpart of the Ford Torino, and then to a full size sedan, the counterpart of the Ford Five Hundred, from 2005 to 2007. For the 2008 model year it was renamed the Sable. A middle gap of 28 years separated the two uses. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the first generation (1968 to 1971); the second generation (1972 to 1976); the third generation (2005 to 2007).
