The Lynx was the Mercury version of the first generation North American Ford Escort, sold from the 1981 model year as the successor to the Bobcat, with a nameplate that again came from wild cats. It shared its entire body with the Escort, differing mainly in grille styling, parking light and taillamp lenses and extra chrome trim. Mercury retired it after 1987, replacing it with the Tracer. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1981 to 1987).
