Hudson Wasp (first generation)

Automobiles

The first generation Wasp rode Hudson's existing shorter chassis, five inches shorter than the Hornet's, yet it carried the trim and interior of the top model. It used a six cylinder engine, a smaller one than the Hornet's, with optional overdrive or General Motors automatic transmission. In 1953 a more powerful Super Wasp line joined the base car, and in 1954 the whole large Hudson range was reskinned in a squarer shape at great expense. Its model years run from 1952 to 1954.
