The Vedette was a large French Ford, built at Poissy from 1948 to 1954 and designed entirely in Detroit in the style of the Mercurys of the day, with a small Flathead V8 that made it the only French car of its time with a V8 engine. Poor early quality limited its popularity, and Ford France refreshed it in 1950 and 1952 and added a luxury Vendome and an Abeille estate before Ford France merged into Simca. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1948 to 1954).
