The Pilot was the first large British Ford after the Second World War, made by Ford UK between August 1947 and 1951 with a side valve V8 engine in a prewar based chassis. It was old fashioned even when new, with a column gear lever and a Marles steering box, though its front brakes were hydraulic. About 22,000 were made before the Zephyr Six and Consul replaced it in 1951. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1947 to 1951).
