The second generation arrived for 2007 after Ford skipped the 2006 model year, on the U251 chassis of the fourth generation Explorer with a wheelbase of 130.5 inches and four wheel independent suspension. It offered a 4.0 litre V6 or a 4.6 litre V8, XLT and Limited trims and an Adrenalin package, and ended in October 2010. Its model years run from 2007 to 2010. The Sport Trac was a mid size crew cab pickup that Ford built on a lengthened Explorer chassis, the first mid size pickup Ford produced.
