For 2008 an Adrenalin appearance package was added to the Sport Trac, along with the SYNC infotainment system. The Adrenalin had started as a Ford SVT project with a supercharged 4.6 litre V8 of 390 horsepower, planned as a 2007 successor to the F-150 Lightning, but that was cancelled. The Sport Trac was a mid size crew cab pickup that Ford built on a lengthened Explorer chassis, the first mid size pickup Ford produced. All production came from the Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky, where it took the place of the Ranger.
