Dodge Dart (first generation)

Automobiles

The first Darts were downsized full-size cars introduced for 1960 to replace Plymouths as the standard, low priced car for the Dodge dealer network, which had sold Plymouths since 1930. They were built in sedan, coupe, convertible and wagon forms on an 118 inch unibody wheelbase, with Seneca, Pioneer and Phoenix trim levels, and sold in greater numbers than the larger Matador and Polara, which took sales from Plymouth. The 1961 cars were restyled with reverse fins and a concave grille that proved unpopular. Its model years run from 1960 to 1961.
