The 1962 Dart was downsized again to a mid-size car on the new lightweight B body unibody platform with Torsion-Aire torsion bar front suspension. The Seneca, Pioneer and Phoenix names were dropped for the Dart, Dart 330, Dart 440 and Polara 500, offered as hardtops, a convertible and sedans. It was seen as more of an intermediate, and dealers who wanted a true full size car got the Dodge Custom 880 in January 1962. It was the only year the Dart name was used on a B body car. Its only model year is 1962.
