For 1962 the Seneca, Pioneer and Phoenix trim levels were dropped and the Dart, Dart 330, Dart 440 and Polara 500 were offered in downsized two and four door hardtop and convertible styles. The cars were on the new B body unibody platform. In Canada the base model was badged the Dart 220. A third generation turbine engine was installed in a 1962 Dart that drove from New York to Los Angeles. The 1962 car was dimensionally the same as the Polara 500, but that car was not officially a Dart because of its different name.
