The fourth Coronet, from 1957, was a restyled Dodge sold with the Royal and Custom Royal, and it began with the D-501, which replaced the D-500 as the top Coronet and used Chrysler's proven 354 Hemi V8 left over from the 1956 Chrysler 300B. A survey in Popular Mechanics found many owners complained of water leaks. The 1958 and 1959 cars used a DeSoto Fireflite chassis with less ornate trim, and a limited Silver Challenger appeared in 1959. Its model years run from 1957 to 1959.
