The DeSoto Firedome was a full size DeSoto powered by a Hemi V8, sold from 1952 to 1959. It began as DeSoto's premium line, was pushed down to entry level in 1955 when the Fireflite was added above it, moved up to a mid range car in 1957 beside the new Firesweep, and was discontinued before the 1960 model year as DeSoto's fortunes faded. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the top line series (1952 to 1954); the entry level series (1955 to 1956); the mid range series (1957 to 1959).
