Chrysler New Yorker (Forward Look 1957 to 1959)

Automobiles

The 1957 Chryslers were redesigned with Virgil Exner's Forward Look at a cost of 300 million dollars borrowed from Prudential Insurance, with fins sweeping up from behind the front doors and standard TorqueFlite automatic and Torsion Aire torsion bar front suspension. The Hemi grew to 392 cubic inches. Rust problems from rushed production tainted the reputation of Chrysler cars, and for 1959 a wedge head V8 replaced the Hemi. Its model years run from 1957 to 1959.
