1958 Chrysler New Yorker

Automobiles

The 1958 New Yorker received new body side trim and smaller taillights, and the Hemi output was raised again to 345 horsepower, while Auto Pilot cruise control was introduced. Sales decreased because of the recession of 1958, and the convertible was still available, with only 666 made. The reputation of Chrysler cars became tainted by rust problems caused by rushed production and testing, a flaw that hurt the brand's image for years afterward.
