The third generation Nova was fully redesigned for 1968 on a longer 111 inch wheelbase, one inch shorter than the Chevelle coupe, and the Chevy II part of the name was dropped for 1969. Its front subframe was shared with the 1967 Camaro design. The Nova SS became a performance package, and from 1973 the car was facelifted with a hatchback and 5 mile per hour bumpers. It was rebadged as the Buick Apollo, Pontiac Ventura and Oldsmobile Omega. Its model years run from 1968 to 1974.
