The fourth TL, which first rolled off the assembly line in September 2008, used Acura's Keen Edge Dynamic styling with the controversial Power Plenum grille. It was slightly larger than before. The front-drive car had a 280 horsepower 3.5 litre V6, while the TL SH-AWD, the first with all-wheel drive and a replacement for the Type-S, had a 3.7 litre V6 making 305 horsepower. A new six-speed automatic came in 2012, and production ended in March 2014 when the TLX replaced it.
