Ford ended sales of the Transit Connect in North America after the 2023 model year, following a big decline in sales of small vans overall and the end of the Nissan NV200 and the Mercedes Benz Metris. The plan to build a new one in Mexico alongside the Bronco Sport was dropped. It sat between the Transit Courier and the Transit Custom in the Ford Transit range. The Transit Connect was Ford's compact panel van, developed by Ford of Europe as a dedicated commercial vehicle.
