For 2020 production the Ford Transit underwent a mid cycle model revision, distinguished by an update of the front fascia and dashboard, and adopted power sliding doors and dual sliding doors for cargo vans as options. A ten speed automatic replaced the six speed that had been used from 2015 to 2019. In November 2020 Ford announced the 2022 E-Transit battery electric cargo van with a 68 kWh battery.
