The third generation Mazda3 was in its sixth year in 2018 and still made in Japan, Mexico, Thailand and elsewhere. The next generation was unveiled in Los Angeles on 28 November 2018, with the hatchback previewed by the Kai concept and the sedan by the Vision Coupe, and the Mazda3 had passed six million cumulative sales early in 2019. Its body styles were still the five door hatchback and four door sedan.
