2018 Mazda2

The United States sedan kept the Toyota Yaris iA name for the 2018 model year, built by Mazda in Mexico, while other markets continued to receive the Mazda2 hatchback, whose diesel was still sold in Europe. The third generation used Skyactiv transmissions, the i-STOP stop start system and the i-ELOOP system, which uses braking to charge a capacitor that powers the car's electronics when the engine is off, and it was assembled in Thailand as well as in Japan.
