The third generation was facelifted in 2019 with new exterior and interior trim, revised suspension, adaptive headlights and G-Vectoring Control Plus, and in September the Japanese Demio was renamed Mazda2. It reached Mexico in October for the 2020 model year, and the diesel was dropped in Europe. In the United States the sedan became the Toyota Yaris Sedan, and a Mazda2 based Yaris Hatchback went on sale in October.
