The only transmission available on the 2016 Transit Connect in North America was the six speed 6F35 automatic. Buyers could also have hardware to convert the 2.5 litre engine to run on compressed natural gas or on propane, and the van was built in Valencia. The Transit Connect was Ford's compact panel van, developed by Ford of Europe as a dedicated commercial vehicle. It sat between the Transit Courier and the Transit Custom in the Ford Transit range.
