For the 2016 model year most of the features introduced in 2015 were carried over. The Expedition used a 3.5 liter twin turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine that replaced the Triton V8 in 2015, with the EL version powered by the same engine from 2015 to 2017. The Expedition landed fourth in a 2016 iSeeCars study of the longest lasting vehicles, with 5 percent of vehicles surviving over 200,000 miles. In 2016 sales were below the 2008 peak, though Ford was committed to continuing the nameplate.
