On 18 February 2014 Ford introduced a mid cycle refresh of the Expedition and EL for the 2015 model year, dubbed the U3242 and U3542, debuting at the Dallas Fort Worth Auto Show the next day. It had an armadillo like three bar grille, an optional revised four wheel independent suspension with continuously controlled damping and a 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 replacing the V8. Dealers received the 2015 models in July 2014 despite a 27 percent sales drop since 2008.
