For the 2015 model Ford updated the specification of the standard naturally aspirated 2.5 liter four cylinder in the United States and Canada to 168 horsepower and 170 pound feet of torque. On 18 November 2015 Ford unveiled a refreshed mid cycle update of the Escape, which went on sale at the beginning of 2016 as a 2017 model with an Edge inspired front end. The third generation Escape was claimed to be ten percent more aerodynamic than its predecessor.
