Production of the facelifted 2017 Ford Escape started on 18 March 2016 at the Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky, and the refresh went on sale at the beginning of 2016. It added the Sync 3 infotainment system and the Sync Connect smartphone app for monitoring the vehicle remotely, and a new 1.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder of 179 horsepower replaced the 1.6 liter. Insulation and acoustic glass reduced road and wind noise.
