The facelift of the fourth generation Outback debuted at the 2012 New York Auto Show for the 2013 model year. The Outback of 2012 was in its third year, with the double sized moonroof reduced to a conventional size that did not extend over the rear seats, and a fuel economy gauge replacing the engine coolant temperature gauge. The Legacy prefix was dropped internationally. Most versions of the Outback wagon have had all wheel drive as standard equipment.
