A facelifted version of the Hilux was unveiled by Toyota's Malaysian distributors, UMW Toyota Motor, in August 2008. In September 2008 Toyota introduced the Smart Cab, a four door cab with hidden rear clamshell doors, and the facelifted models were introduced in the Philippines in October 2008. It was model year 3 of 5 in the Toyota Hilux (seventh generation, AN10, AN20 and AN30), 2004 to 2014, coming after the 2007 model year and before the 2009 model year.
