Sales of the Chevrolet Forester ended in 2007 since General Motors no longer held an ownership stake in Subaru's parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries. In 2007 a bottle holder was added to the front door panels, and the Sports trim level was added with changes to the interior and exterior features. The second generation was in its last year. The X and XS models used a 2.5 liter SOHC EJ253 engine, while the XT used a 2.5 liter turbocharged DOHC engine.
