For 2007 the Colorado and Canyon were facelifted and offered new engines, including the 2.9 liter four cylinder and the 3.7 liter five cylinder, introduced because of numerous head problems, with new colors including Sonoma Red for the Canyon. Minor changes to the grille and interior were made for the LT models of the Colorado. The Canyon was built at Shreveport. The 2007 Canyon was the first facelifted GMC compact pickup, a truck built in Louisiana, with new engine options.
