The Transit Connect of 2007 had the compact panel van form of the Opel Combo and the Renault Kangoo, a purpose built commercial vehicle design that was not an adaptation of a station wagon. It used the facelifted front end of 2006 with a new grille. It sat between the Transit Courier and the Transit Custom in the Ford Transit range. The Transit Connect was Ford's compact panel van, developed by Ford of Europe as a dedicated commercial vehicle.
