The GTS was replaced in 2006 by the SRT-10 coupe, which shared many body panels with the convertible and retained the double bubble roof of the earlier Viper GTS. No Viper was produced for the 2007 model year, since Chrysler extended production of the 2006 model while it prepared the updated 2008 model. The 2006 Viper SRT-10 was the last of the third generation, with the 8.3 liter V10 in its 500 horsepower form.
