The MDX changed little for 2006, with a few minor revisions to its chrome and faux wood trim. The wood could now come in a dark grey instead of a reddish tone, and tan interiors had a black dash and steering wheel. It was the last year of the first generation, and the last in which a Honda-badged MDX was sold in Japan and Australia, since those sales stopped when the second generation arrived, while the new MDX went on sale in the United States in October 2006.
