For 2005 the top version, called the RSX-S, received a new K20Z1 engine, originally rated at 210 horsepower, replacing the 200 horsepower engine used since 2002. The base RSX continued with the 160 horsepower K20A3. The liftback body, the left-hand-drive version of the Japanese Honda Integra, was unchanged and the car was in its fourth year on sale, still positioned as the sporty entry to the Acura range.
