A minor update came in the 2002 model year, with a new instrument cluster with a digital odometer like that of the updated F 150, and a new headlight design. The Super Duty of 2002 was a heavy duty F Series with a choice of gasoline V8 and V10 and a diesel V8. The Super Duty is a dedicated heavy duty variant of the F Series, sold above the F 150 with Power Stroke diesel engines as an option. Ford assembles the trucks at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville and at Ohio Assembly in Avon Lake.
