The 2001 Acura CL arrived in March 2000 after a year with no CL, completely redesigned and powered by a 3.2 litre SOHC VTEC V6 with 225 horsepower. A navigation system was available, and the new Type-S model was Acura's sport edition with a 260 horsepower V6, 17 inch wheels, a firmer suspension, slightly larger brakes and firmer seats. It was the strongest front-drive car Honda had made until then.
