1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Automobiles

The 500,000th MX-5 was built on 8 February 1999, a decade after the car's debut, and the NB was named to the Car and Driver 10Best list again. In the United States this was the 1999 model year of the second generation, with the proportions of the original but fixed headlamps, a revised interior and, for the first time, the option of a six speed manual transmission instead of the earlier five speed. Its lightweight unibody kept the curb weight under 1,100 kilograms.
