1999 Mazda Demio

The 1.3 LX Limited and 1.5 GL Limited of the Demio, which sold out a month early, were sold again in April 1999, 2,500 and 1,000 of them. On 5 August the 350,000 cars memorial special editions were sold, 10,000 of the 1300 LX and 3,000 of the 1500 GL. On 21 December a big minor change, the late model, brought the five point grille of Mazda, multi reflector headlamps, standard airbags and ABS, and a new DSC. The name Demio is derived from the Latin meus, to show possession, which in many Romance languages has become mio.
